Buckner Was Crowned Miss Washington in 1971
Susan Buckner, best known for her role as cheerleader Patty Simcox in the 1978 musical Grease, died on May 2, her son Adam Josephs tells Entertainment Weekly. Buckner was 72.
Buckner was born in Seattle, Washington on January 28, 1952. Prior to her acting career, she was crowned Miss Washington in 1971.
In addition to Grease, Buckner also appeared in the films Deadly Blessing (1981) and The Howling (1981). She also had roles in several television shows, including The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and Murder, She Wrote.
