Susan Buckner, the actress who starred as Patty Simcox in the 1978 hit musical comedy Grease, has died at the age of 69.
Buckner was born in Seattle, Washington, on January 28, 1953. Prior to her acting career, she was crowned Miss Washington in 1971.
She made her film debut in Grease, which starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Buckner played Patty Simcox, a member of the Pink Ladies, a group of friends who are trying to navigate the ups and downs of high school life.
Grease was a critical and commercial success, and Buckner's performance in the film helped her to launch her acting career.
She went on to appear in a number of other films and television shows, including "The Love Boat," "Fantasy Island," and "Murder, She Wrote."
Buckner retired from acting in the early 1990s and became a successful businesswoman.
